“Momentum Magi”

This is a group show juried by Melody Jean Moulton of Trash Lamb Gallery & Colleena Hake of La Matadora Gallery.

Opening at La Matadora Gallery in Joshua Tree, CA on June 13th, 2026 and runs through July 5th, 2026.

Deadline to Submit: May 13th, 2026 at 11:59 pm PST

The theme of this exhibition, Momentum Magi, combines both the Lunar New Year’s energy, “Fire Horse” as well as symbolism from this year’s tarot card, “The Magician.” Fire Horse energy is associated with ambition, passion, transformation, momentum, visibility, decisive action, and acceleration. It is expansive and bold. The Magician (or Magi) symbolizes manifestation, resourcefulness, and personal power, highlighting the individual’s participation in the divine act of creation. It signifies new beginnings, focused intention, and using one's talents to bring ideas to life, encouraging bold action and self-belief.

You are encouraged to write a short paragraph about your piece and how it relates to the theme, hint hint - we love a good narrative!

Submit 1 to 3 pieces, we aren’t putting a size limit but it’s a small gallery and we plan to pack the place. Please be reasonable with sizing if you’d like to be considered for the show.

How It Works Around Here.

No prints. No digital art. No AI. No exceptions.

As most of you know, Trash Lamb Gallery no longer has a storefront in San Diego and is operating online via this website or in temporary physical settings when we collaborate with other galleries who are still able to maintain brick & mortars.

Online-Only Exhibitions: 70 Artist / 30 Gallery Split

In-Person Exhibitions: 50 Artist / 50 Gallery Split

All of our online pricing includes free domestic shipping to the buyer. If your work is accepted into a show and you see that the pricing on our website is a bit higher than what you quoted in your submission, this is why. Once your piece is in my hands, I’ll calculate packaging and shipping costs to tack onto the price you gave me before listing it on the gallery’s website. If your piece is sold, the shipping & packaging costs will be deducted back out from the total sale before the profit is split. We sell more artwork when we offer free shipping to our customers!

It is the artist’s responsibility to cover all shipping costs to the gallery as well as return shipping costs for all unsold artwork once the consignment period is up.

Local drop off & pick-up in the Joshua Tree area is possible to avoid shipping costs.

The gallery retains the right to refuse any artwork that arrives damaged or is different than what was pictured in your submissions. No changes or additions to the artwork are allowed once it has been accepted into a show unless agreed upon by both the artist and the gallery ahead of time and in writing.
